Quickstart

This quick start guide gets you up and running in under 10 minutes, setting a solid data foundation for deeper exploration of the platform. You’ll be able to take your first technical improvement actions within minutes, and your initial AI visibility insights will be available within 24-48 hours.

1. Add Your First Brand

After creating your workspace, add your brand:

  1. Enter your website URL (e.g., https://yourcompany.com)
  2. Asky will automatically analyze your website to extract:
    • Brand name
    • Industry
    • Description
    • Key features
    • Target audience

This analysis typically takes 10-30 seconds and provides the foundation for your AI search monitoring. You can then adapt the suggested descriptions as needed.

2. Set Up Your First topics

Topics define the core areas you want your company to be known for. They represent the themes, problem spaces, or product categories where you want AI systems and search engines to recognize your brand as relevant.

In GEO, topics serve two key purposes:

  • They help structure the prompts and searches used to measure your AI visibility.
  • They form the foundation for building topic authority—the areas where you want AI models to consistently recognize and reference your brand as a credible source.

Choosing the right topics ensures that the platform evaluates your visibility against the most strategically important parts of your business.

Examples

  • Decision automation platform
  • Expense reimbursement management
  • Sugar free energy drinks

We suggest an initial set of topics—review and adapt them to fit your business. You can add or modify topics at any time.

3. Set Up Your First Prompts

Prompts are the questions you want your brand to be found for in AI systems. They reflect how real users might ask about solutions, products, or problems in conversational search or AI-powered interfaces. Prompts are the foundation for measuring and improving your AI visibility.

Based on the topics you defined, we automatically generate an initial set of prompts.

Review the suggested prompts and adjust them if needed to better reflect how your target audience searches for solutions in your space.

Quick tip:

Ask yourself: “What do I want my brand to be found for?” A helpful starting point is to take keywords from Google Search Console and rephrase them into natural, question-based queries—similar to how someone would ask an AI assistant.

Examples:

  • What is the best HR software for small and mid-sized companies?
  • What is a healthy alternative for energy drinks?
  • What is the best online store for sustainable clothing?

Don’t worry—you can add, edit, or refine prompts at any time.

4. Identify Your Competitors

Add your competitors to benchmark your AI visibility against them. This allows you to see which brands appear in AI-generated answers for the prompts you track, and where you may be gaining or losing visibility.

Based on your brand analysis, we suggest an initial set of competitors

  • We continue recommend additional ones over time - you can accept them in the competitor section
  • You can also add competitors manually

Important:

Use the shortest unique brand name, such as “Trade Republic”, rather than variations like “traderepublic.com” or “Trade Republic UK”. This is exactly what is tracked.

If a brand has common alternative spellings or variations, you can add them as aliases so they are correctly recognized and attributed, e.g., “TradeRepublic” without a space.

5. View Your Results

Your Dashboard gives you an overview on your AI Visibility.

Core elements:

  • Visibility graph – The percentage of AI responses mentioning each brand over time.
  • Competitor Ranking – Your visibility, sentiment, and share of voice compared to competitors.
  • Domains and Sources – Websites AI platforms reference in their answers (domains and URLs).

This gives you a clear view of where your brand appears in AI search and how you compare to competitors across your tracked prompts.

Use the filters at the top of the dashboard to refine your view by topic, region, AI model, date range, or competitors - and save your favourite filters as Presets.

6. Optional: Set Up Crawler Tracking

To see when AI bots visit your website:

  1. Go to AI SearchCrawler Logs
  2. Click Setup Instructions
  3. Copy your Domain ID
  4. Follow the platform-specific instructions for:

Crawler tracking is optional but highly recommended. It shows you when ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI systems fetch content from your site in real-time.

Optional: Track Additional Competitors

  1. Go to your competitors page
  2. Here you will find an overview of all competitors that are being tracked
    • Classify what type of relation you have to each competitor
    • Add/remove competitors to personalize your tracking
