Alt Text Over 100 Characters

What This Means

Images which have one instance of alt text over 100 characters in length. This is not strictly an issue, however image alt text should be concise and descriptive. It should not be used to stuff lots of keywords or paragraphs of text onto a page.

What Triggers This Issue

This issue is triggered when an image on a page has alt text exceeding 100 characters in length. For example:

<img src="image.jpg" alt="This is an example of an excessively long alt text that is not recommended for effective and concise image description.">

How To Fix

Write concise alt text that’s helpful for users and search engines – without keyword stuffing.
